Duties of a dental assistant are among the most comprehensive and varied in the dental office. Dental assistants perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties. These tasks require both interpersonal and technical skills. Students at Tri-State Institute will learn to work chair-side as dentists examine and treat patients. The students will also learn to hand instruments and materials to dentists for a variety of dental procedures in a general dental practice, as well as dental specialty practices including oral surgery, pediatric, orthodontic, periodontic, endodontic, and prosthodontic.
